Lauren Artzi
Lauren Artzi has expertise in second language education PK-12, intervention research, and multi-tiered systems of support. She is currently participating in research, technical assistance, and product development associated with the Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability, and Reform (CEEDAR) Center and with AIR’s Center for English Language Learners (ELLs).
Prior to her position at AIR, Artzi was a research associate at the Center for Applied Linguistics where she developed and conducted a number of professional development workshops for teachers and administrators related to content-area literacy instruction for ELLs, authored curriculum as part of a USAID biliteracy initiative in Ghana, and managed intervention curriculum and assessment development as part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development's Vocabulary Instruction and Assessment for Spanish Speakers research program. She also served on an IES-funded University of Maryland research team that developed and evaluated a primary cross-age peer learning multimedia supplemental literacy program. Artzi is completing a doctorate in curriculum and instruction at the University of Maryland. She is a former primary and secondary second language education teacher.
